Voyage is excited to share that we’re embarking on a new journey to document and archive the trials, tribulations and compelling stories of our Windrush Elders living in Hackney. This initiative, supported by the Windrush Day Fund 2024, aims to honour and preserve the rich heritage of our Windrush pioneers. Our multi-stage project has been designed to connect young people with our elders, whilst training young people with all of the essential skills required to capture their unique stories.

Our young leaders will be at the heart of this project, acting as project supporters volunteering in Caribbean lunch clubs, facilitating seaside, conducting oral history interviews and photographic shoots, combining these together to produce a book giving testimony to our elders unique journeys and lived experiences. Our project aims to preserve personal narratives and cultural heritage, strengthen community pride, increase awareness of Windrush contributions, whilst empowering both elders and young people.
