Voyage is proud to announce the launch of the "Stories of Windrush" book, a heartfelt tribute to the remarkable journeys and contributions of our beloved Windrush generation. This project has been a labour of love, made possible by the unwavering support of The Museum of the Homes Sonia Solicari, Hackney CVS’s Rachel King and Hackney's vibrant and hard working Caribbean Lunch Club coordinators: Velma Bramble, Nerine O'Connor, Lullyn Charles and Paulette Henry. Their dedication, passion and involvement of each organisation has been instrumental in bringing this vision to life.
We are thrilled to feature over 40 comprehensive stories accompanied by a mix of photographs, numerous audio recordings and images from our esteemed elders and Voyage’s tireless team of eloquent Heritage Youth Ambassadors. These invaluable contributions, including moments captured during our hugely packed Garden Tea Party, Day trip to Hastings and subsequent events, form the heart of this book. We hope we have reflected the rich tapestry of experiences, journeys and of course lessons from our Windrush elders.
