Zainab

Zainab first joined Voyage through the Young Leaders for Sustainable Cities programme, where she immediately demonstrated creativity, commitment and a strong desire to learn. As an avid photography enthusiast, she continually develops her skills, taking photos, experimenting with new techniques and documenting the journey of her peers. Her passion for visual storytelling quickly made her an invaluable contributor to Voyage’s projects and activities.

Zainab has taken photographs for multiple Voyage events and programmes, capturing powerful moments that celebrate youth voice, community leadership and cultural heritage. Her work has contributed to internal media, social content, and documentation across the organisation.

One of her most significant contributions has been her involvement in the Windrush Book Project, where she helped visually document stories, interviews and activities that honour the legacy of the Windrush generation. Her photography provided an important creative layer to the project, helping bring the elders’ stories to life for wider audiences.

Beyond her creative work, Zainab has engaged in a wide range of opportunities at Voyage. She has taken part in the Voyage Summer Scheme, actively joining the business challenge and showing leadership, teamwork and problem-solving skills. Her participation across these programmes has allowed her to grow in confidence, communication and project experience.

Zainab also serves as a committed Voyage Ambassador, representing the organisation at events, supporting programme delivery and contributing her voice to youth-led programmes. She continues to show professionalism, enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility in all her roles.

Overall, Zainab is a dedicated young leader whose creativity, curiosity and willingness to contribute make her a valued member of the Voyage community. She is steadily building her skills in photography, leadership and youth advocacy, and she continues to shine in every project she takes on.
